Spectacular views of rolling lush faces of the Drakensberg Mountains form the back drop of one of

South Africa’s most famous leisure resorts.

Sani Pass Hotel & Leisure Resort is the ideal venue for family holidays, unique conferencing, special occasions and international tourists.  A resort well known for its warm hospitality and outstanding personal service.

Opening its doors in 1958, Sani Pass Hotel & Leisure Resort has played host to many generations creating delightful memories. Now under new management, a team with a wealth of international hospitality experience, renovations have been well underway since 2011 restoring this historical hotel to its former glory with a whisper of modern styling.

The master building (28 bedrooms) in addition to 4 mountain facing cottages have been completely renovated, all bedrooms and public areas have been redesigned with warm comfy furnishings and select fittings. The balance of the cottages is currently undergoing their final transformation.

The resort has two well-equipped conference venues accommodating up to 150 delegates and offers a host of team building activities. Our wellness and beauty centre with breathtaking views of the mountain range and golf course offers a large selection of services, treatments and packages as well as tailor made pamper days.

2012 welcomes two new venues, The Sports Bar for those who can't make it to the game and The Cigar Lounge serving sushi and exclusive whiskies for guests with more discerning tastes. With thanks to the Food & Beverage Manager, Wilfred Maphalala and our team of highly experienced chefs, the Mountain View Restaurant offers an international fine dining experience.

Climate:

The resort enjoys its fair share of South Africa's sunny weather. Our summers (December-February) are hot, often with a short thunderstorm in the afternoon to cool things down. Summertime is a season of lush green grassy slopes, multitudes of wild flowers and gushing streams and waterfalls. As Easter approaches, nature slips gently into its autumn colours- the avenues of Oak, Maple and Plane trees turning rich tones of red and yellow with the roadside a mass of the beloved pink and white cosmos. Winter is a season of exciting contrast and the days are stable and sunny, however, at night the temperatures can drop to well below freezing. Snow may typically fall in June-August, providing a day or two of snowballing and sledging fun. Guests should remember that weather at the base of such mighty mountains is unpredictable, and temperatures and weather at the Resort might vary greatly from that at the top of the Pass so always bring warm clothing and sun protection with you. In 2002 we had a snowfall on New Year's Eve! Average daily sunshine is 8.3 hours in summer and 5.5 hours during winter.
